Iowa

Posted 8 August 2012 by

As I drove from Nebraska into Iowa the scenery was mostly the same: corn. It was like being in a sea of green and yellow. If you’ve never been to the Midwest and/or farm country of any kind, make time. It is beautiful. the plan for the overnight stay in Iowa was to stop in Cedar Rapids and go into town to see some scenery. I thought briefly in planning the drive of trying to make Ottumwa my overnight just so that I could say that I stayed in the hometown of one of my favorite characters from M*A*S*H: Corp. Walter “Radar” O’Reilly. Unfortunately, Ottumwa was just too far south from the highway I was taking and would have added several more hours to my trip. I was already exhausted from the road by the time I reached Iowa so the number of photos taken began dropping.  I did my best to stop and get out here and there so that I could stretch my legs and catch a few snapshots but the longest stop I managed was at a rest stop that I found to be quite a bit prettier than many of the other states had. But now, without further ado, I present you Iowa.
